Due to unforseen circumstances the 2007 SLF Session has been postponed. More information will be coming soon.
The Virginia Beach Student Leadership Forum (SLF) is an annual program organized by Senator Stolle, Delegate Suit and Delegate Iaquinto, which provides an opportunity for local high school students to get an up close and personal view of how the government works for them. Over several weeks participants get a chance to learn about local, state and national politics, the judicial system, the impact of media on politics, the role of the military and much more.
The highlight of the program is a tour of the state Capitol and a chance to see where delegates and senators make the legislative process work. Upon completion of the program, seniors who have attended all of the seminars are given the opportunity to apply for a scholarship.
Student Leadership Forum is open to high school AP sophomores, juniors and seniors in Virginia Beach. Applications for the program can be obtained from your government teacher or by contacting our office.
